The International Federation of Robotics The purpose of the International Federation of Robotics is to promote research, development, use and international co-operation in the entire field of robotics to act as a focal point for organisations and governmental representatives in activities related to robotics. Robotics Industries Association "More than 200 Corporate Members now belong to RIA, representing many more thousands of industry experts and professionals. Since 1974, the Association has been a major factor in promoting the use and acceptance of robot and machine vision technology. According to RIA, the robotics industry has experienced a sustained growth surge of orders and shipments for more than four years. Currently some 150,000 robots are estimated to be at work in U.S. factories."
